Being naked

Psychological (Freud)
Appearing naked in public often mirrors the fear of exposure — the worry of being seen through and no longer able to hide one's true wishes or weaknesses. At the same time, the dream can voice a secret longing for authenticity and freedom from social masks.
Oriental reading
In the Oriental-Islamic tradition, nakedness often points to the uncovering of a hidden flaw or to a loss of standing; some interpreters, however, also see in it sincerity and the casting off of hypocrisy, hence a return to truth.
European folk (dream-book)
To see oneself naked in a dream the old folk belief reads as a foretoken of embarrassment and ill talk: a secret threatens to come to light, or one will be shamed before people. Some dream-books, however, turn it to the good and say that whoever stands bare and unashamed has release from a burden, or even unlooked-for fortune, lying ahead. To be naked out of doors or before strangers is held a warning to guard oneself against slander and prying eyes.
Common dream scenarios
Naked in public
Standing naked among people is the classic exposure dream: the fear of being seen through and judged the moment the protective facade drops. In the Oriental sense it can hint at the uncovering of a hidden flaw or a loss of standing. If no one notices your nakedness, the fear softens into mere self-doubt.
Feeling ashamed of being naked
When shame is the ruling feeling in the dream, it is less about the bareness itself than about a deep sense of inadequacy. You fear that some essential part of you fails to meet others' judgment. Traditionally the image urges reconciliation with whatever you keep hidden about yourself.
Naked and not caring
Being naked without it troubling you is a surprisingly liberating sign: you have nothing to hide and stand honestly and unvarnished as yourself. Psychologically it speaks of growing self-confidence and authenticity. In some traditions this fearless bareness marks innocence and inner purity.
Seeing someone else naked
Seeing another person naked means, in the psychological sense, looking behind their facade and perceiving them as they truly are. It can signal growing intimacy or the seeing-through of a mask. In the Oriental sense it sometimes hints that a hidden secret of that person is coming to light.
Body
Dream interpretation is for self-reflection and entertainment — it is not a medical or psychological diagnosis.
