Στη βαθυψυχολογία ο σκορπιός ενσαρκώνει το κρυμμένο κεντρί: απωθημένη εχθρότητα, μνησικακία ή αυτοτραυματικές παρορμήσεις που παραμονεύουν κάτω από μια ήρεμη επιφάνεια. Μπορεί επίσης να καθρεφτίζει τον φόβο μιας ύπουλης προδοσίας, δίνοντας έτσι μορφή στη δική του δυσπιστία του ονειρευόμενου.

Old superstition sees in the scorpion a false friend who lurks unseen and stings from behind with a venomous tongue. In a dream it stands as a warning of slander and treacherous betrayal from those closest at hand. But to crush it underfoot, the old folk say, means one will escape the plot and unmask the hidden enemy in good time.

A scorpion in the bed, after Ibn Sirin, points to a danger from the closest proximity, often in the intimate or marital sphere where trust is wounded. Psychologically the location reveals repressed resentment or hostile tension right at the heart of safety and intimacy.
