Ψυχολογική (Φρόυντ)
Στη βαθυψυχολογία το άλογο ενσαρκώνει την ισχυρή, συχνά μετά βίας χαλιναγωγημένη ενστικτώδη ενέργεια και την ορμή προς την ελευθερία και τη φυγή. Ένα αφηνιασμένο άλογο μπορεί να καθρεφτίζει ένα πάθος που απειλεί να κατακλύσει τον ξύπνιο εαυτό.
Ανατολίτικη ερμηνεία
Στην παράδοση του Ιμπν Σιρίν, το άλογο, ιδίως ένα ευγενές και καλά χαλιναγωγημένο, προμηνύει εκτίμηση, καλή τύχη και αύξηση δύναμης ή πλούτου. Ένα υπάκουο άτι παραπέμπει σε επιτυχία που ακολουθεί τον ονειρευόμενο πρόθυμα.
Λαϊκή (ονειροκρίτης)
In the old dream-book the horse is a herald of swift change: a white steed foretells a wedding or a joyful journey, while a black horse counsels caution and at times portends a funeral. To ride briskly and surely means a wish will be granted and word is coming from afar. But should the horse fall or bolt away, the old folk warn of a sudden turn in one's fortunes.

White horse
The white horse is held in Ibn Sirin's tradition to be the noblest: esteem, an honorable station, a blessed course of life. In depth psychology it stands for clarified, ennobled drive - instinctual power placed in the service of a higher aim that carries you cleanly forward.
Black horse
A black, powerful horse can, in the older reading, mean power and great influence - but also a force hard to rein in. Psychologically it embodies the dark, untamed side of your instinctual energy: potent and alluring, yet asking to be consciously guided rather than suppressed.
Falling off a horse
Falling off a horse traditionally warns of a loss of standing, a setback in office or position, or a venture that fails. Psychologically you have lost control over your own driving force - a sign that ambition is outrunning you or that you have overreached.
Riding a horse
To ride a horse securely and in control is a very good sign: you are master of your situation, you reach your goal, you rise in standing. In depth psychology you have your instinctual power in hand - will and drive pull in the same direction, and you advance with force.
