Pauk u svojoj mreži često odražava osećaj zarobljenosti u zapletenoj vezi ili u odnosu koji guši. Može da utelovi i ambivalentnu majčinsku figuru koja istovremeno neguje i sputava.
Orijentalno tumačenje
U islamskom tumačenju snova pauk ukazuje na slabu, pobožnu ili povučenu osobu, a ponekad i na plan satkan uz mnogo truda. Njegova mreža savetuje strpljenje, jer ono što je fino ispredeno može se isto tako lako pocepati.
