Глубинная психология читает подъём по лестнице как образ внутреннего восхождения: честолюбия, стремления продвигаться и желания достичь более высокой ступени самого себя. В классическом понимании размеренное движение вверх и вниз по ступеням есть также завуалированное выражение телесного возбуждения и непрожитого желания.
Восточное толкование
В восточно-исламском толковании снов лёгкое восхождение по лестнице — благоприятное предзнаменование возвышения в положении, уважении и вере. Споткнуться же или упасть предостерегает от неудачи или от гордыни, что может низвергнуть человека.

Crumbling steps or a collapsing staircase betray uncertainty about the foundation of your own ascent — the fear that the hard-won path won't hold. It mirrors a lack of trust in the stability of plans or relationships. Traditionally it warns you to test the foundation before striving higher.
