Climbing stairs
Psychological (Freud)
Depth psychology reads climbing stairs as an image of inner ascent: ambition, the drive to advance and the wish to reach a higher rung of the self. In the classical view the rhythmic up-and-down of the steps is also a veiled expression of bodily arousal and unlived desire.
Oriental reading
In Oriental-Islamic dream interpretation, climbing a staircase with ease is a favourable omen of rising in rank, standing and faith. To stumble or fall, however, warns of a setback or of a pride that may bring one low.
Actions
Dream interpretation is for self-reflection and entertainment — it is not a medical or psychological diagnosis.
