Anđeo u snu može oličavati idealizovanu zaštitničku figuru u kojoj živi dečija čežnja za svedobrim, zaklanjajućim prisustvom. Često odražava potisnutu želju za čistotom, utehom i glasom koji potvrđuje sopstvenu dobrotu, glasnika boljeg sopstva.
Orijentalno tumačenje
U orijentalno-islamskoj tradiciji, videti anđela u snu krajnje je povoljan znak, koji nagoveštava radosne vesti, božansku pomoć i zaštitu od opasnosti. Prema Ibn Sirinu, dobrostiv anđeo obećava čast i utehu u nevolji, a ako progovori, označava istinsko vodstvo koje sanjač treba da posluša.

By old folk belief, an angel in a dream is a blessed omen: it heralds an unlooked-for helper in waking life, a glad message already on its way, or the watch of a departed loved one keeping guard over the sleeper. If the angel speaks or beckons, a birth, a reconciliation, or a happy turn of fate is near. But should it turn away or weep, the old people counsel a mending of one's ways before misfortune draws near.
