В исламском толковании сна река чистой воды — источник благословения, пропитания и благоволения щедрого человека или вельможи. Мутная же или бурная река, напротив, предостерегает о заботах, распре или неправедном заработке.

By old superstition a clear, gently flowing river in a dream promises a long and blessed life and prosperity that comes slowly but steadily. Whoever reaches the far bank safe and dry has a happy turn and the easing of a care before them. But a muddy, raging river, or one that bursts its banks, warns of loss, false talk, and tears still to come.

A clear river flowing calmly is read in Oriental tradition as pure fortune, blessing and lawful sustenance that reaches you without struggle. Psychologically the transparent water mirrors an emotional life that has settled: you are at peace with yourself and follow your path without inner resistance.
Muddy river
Muddy, turbid river water warns in traditional reading of tainted gain, worry or a season of clouded circumstances. Inwardly it shows stirred-up, unresolved feelings in which you can no longer see the bottom and lose your sense of direction.
Crossing the river
Crossing the river and reaching the far bank points to overcoming a trial, deliverance from hardship, or a life passage successfully made. In depth psychology the opposite shore marks a threshold: you leave one chapter behind and step transformed into a new phase.
Drowning in a river
Drowning in or being swept away by a rushing river warns of being overwhelmed by circumstances or forces stronger than you. Psychologically the ego is in danger of being flooded by overpowering emotions or a current of life you no longer steer.
