Глубинная психология представляет телефон как желание связи с отсутствующим, быть может, внутренне недостающим человеком, и тоску быть услышанным. Бесконечный звон, оборванная линия или невозможность ответить отражают послание, застрявшее между сознательным и бессознательным.
Восточное толкование
В восточном и исламском толковании телефон предвещает весть и известия, связь с теми, кто далёк, и слово, что вскоре прибудет. Ясный разговор сулит добрую весть и примирение, тогда как оборванная или полная помех связь читается как недоразумение или ответ, что так и не приходит.

In folk reckoning the telephone in a dream is a messenger: its ringing announces news already on its way, often from one of whom you have just been thinking. To be unable to answer, or to hear a dead line, foretells by old belief a falling-out or a chance let slip. A clear conversation, by contrast, promises a reconciliation soon to come and good tidings from afar.

Losing your phone
Losing your phone awakens the fear of being cut off from important people or from the world. Tradition warns of a broken contact or a missed message. Psychologically the dream asks whether you have lost touch with someone, or with yourself.
