În psihologia adâncimilor, șoarecele oglindește adesea micile griji care te rod și temerile nerostite ce-ți macină în taină liniștea sufletească. Sfiala lui poate arăta și spre un simț de sine timid, ce se face mic și se ferește de băgarea în seamă.
Interpretare orientală
În tradiția lui Ibn Sirin, șoarecele este adesea simbol al unei femei cu purtare îndoielnică sau al unei vietăți dăunătoare ascunse în casă, care, neobservată, îți mistuie agoniseala. Mulți șoareci pot arăta spre pagubă, furt sau ai casei necinstiți, în vreme ce alungarea lor înseamnă ușurare.

By old folk belief, the mouse in a dream foretells petty vexations and secret thieves about the house. When many mice scurry about, the old folk whisper of gossip and false friends who gnaw behind one's back and nibble away at one's prosperity. But to catch the mouse means one will be rid of a troublesome pest and come through the small sorrow unharmed.

The white mouse softens the otherwise troubled mouse image and points to a small, rather harmless worry or a timid, well-meaning person nearby. In Ibn Sirin's tradition the whiteness signals a secret now exposed and seen through; psychologically it shows a quiet wish to bring a hidden fear into the light and tame it.
Mouse in the house
A mouse in the house, after Ibn Sirin, points to a hidden pest in one's own home or a dishonest person in the closest circle gnawing unnoticed. Psychologically the house mirrors the self: a small, unresolved worry has nested inside and secretly eats away at inner peace.
Many mice
A swarm of many mice intensifies the picture: after Ibn Sirin, hidden adversaries multiply or numerous small losses pile up. Psychologically the sheer number shows overwhelm from many simultaneous small worries that seem harmless alone but together overpower.
Dead mouse
A dead mouse, after Ibn Sirin, marks the end of a hidden danger or the unmasking of a person who harmed in secret. Psychologically it signals that a long-gnawing small fear has lost its power and may now be released.
