Laptele atinge cea mai timpurie trăire a hrănirii și stă pentru legătura neîntinată cu mama și pentru nevoia prunceală de îngrijire necondiționată. În vis, el poate sugera o întoarcere spre o siguranță ocrotitoare ori o dorință de curăție și de un nou început.
Interpretare orientală
În tâlcuirea orientală a viselor, laptele simbolizează curăția înnăscută, credința neîntinată (fitra) și o îndestulare îmbelșugată și binecuvântată; a-l bea prevestește cunoaștere, bogăție și o viață lungă. Laptele acrit ori stricat arată însă spre un noroc întunecat sau spre un câștig pângărit.

In the old dream-book milk is a sign of blessing, health and household happiness. To drink fresh, sweet milk foretells prosperity, a fruitful marriage and the blessing of children, and for the farmer a rich harvest; but to spill milk means a small loss and labour gone to waste. Sour or curdled milk warns of sickness, ill-will or a soured friendship, and whoever milks in a dream is told by the old belief to expect growing wealth through the work of their own hands.

Spilled milk
Spilled milk points to a wasted opportunity or a drying source of care you could not hold onto. Tradition sees a loss of blessing in it, while psychologically you are grieving something once nourishing, though the dream cautions against weeping endlessly over what is gone.
Sour milk
Sour or spoiled milk shows a provision or relationship that was once good and has now turned. Traditionally it warns of impure gain or trust gone cloudy, while psychologically a once-nourishing bond has soured and needs an honest reckoning.

Nourishing a child with milk promises, in Oriental reading, blessing, fertility and a responsibility entrusted to you. In depth psychology you are tending a young, vulnerable venture or a new part of yourself that needs your care in order to grow.
