În tradiția oriental-islamică, vederea unei cărți sfinte, mai cu seamă a Coranului, este socotită un semn cât se poate de binecuvântat de călăuzire, cunoaștere și de o viață lungă și binecuvântată. După Ibn Sirin, cel ce citește ori o poartă în vis are făgăduite cinste, ocrotire și dezlegarea pricinilor sale prin adevăr.
