Un înger în vis poate întruchipa o figură ocrotitoare idealizată în care dăinuie un dor prunceal de o prezență cu totul bună și adăpostitoare. El oglindește adesea o dorință reprimată de curăție, mângâiere și de un glas care adeverește propriul bine, un sol al sinelui mai bun.
Interpretare orientală
În tradiția oriental-islamică, vederea unui înger în vis este un semn cât se poate de prielnic, vestind vești bune, ajutor dumnezeiesc și ocrotire de primejdie. După Ibn Sirin, un înger blând făgăduiește cinste și mângâiere în strâmtorare, iar dacă grăiește, el vestește o călăuzire adevărată pe care visătorul se cuvine să o ia aminte.

By old folk belief, an angel in a dream is a blessed omen: it heralds an unlooked-for helper in waking life, a glad message already on its way, or the watch of a departed loved one keeping guard over the sleeper. If the angel speaks or beckons, a birth, a reconciliation, or a happy turn of fate is near. But should it turn away or weep, the old people counsel a mending of one's ways before misfortune draws near.

An angel speaks to you
When an angel speaks to you in a dream, the Oriental-Islamic tradition reads it as direct glad tidings or as guidance you should heed in waking life. Psychologically, it is the inner voice of conscience or intuition finally daring to put into words a truth you have long known.
An angel with spread wings
An angel spreading its wings over you is an exceptionally comforting sign of protection, shelter, and the feeling of being kept safe through a difficult time. It speaks to the deep childlike need to be sheltered and promises that a protecting power watches over you.
Angel of death (Azrael)
The angel of death in a dream rarely signifies physical death; far more often it marks the inevitable end of a life phase, a relationship, or an old identity. It calls for an honest reckoning with mortality and a reconciliation with the unfinished, so that a transition may be made in peace.
Being lifted up by an angel
Being lifted up or carried toward heaven by an angel is traditionally a sign of ascent, honor, and a rise in one's inner and outer standing. Psychologically it describes the elating feeling of being carried and of growing beyond an oppressive situation.
