Το δαχτυλίδι, ως κλειστός κύκλος, συμβολίζει τον δεσμό, την ολότητα και την υπόσχεση μιας διαρκούς ένωσης, συχνά με μια έντονα ερωτική χροιά. Ένα χαμένο ή σπασμένο δαχτυλίδι μπορεί να αποκαλύπτει τον ασυνείδητο φόβο του χωρισμού, ή την απωθημένη επιθυμία να ελευθερωθεί κανείς από μια δεσμευτική σχέση.
Ανατολίτικη ερμηνεία
Στην ανατολίτικη ερμηνεία, ένα δαχτυλίδι υπόσχεται συχνά δύναμη, αξίωμα ή την απόκτηση εκείνου που λαχταρά κανείς, ενίοτε γάμο ή έναν πιστό όρκο. Αν το δαχτυλίδι σπάσει ή χαθεί, παραπέμπει σε μια φθίνουσα υπόληψη ή στη διάλυση μιας υπόσχεσης που θρηνεί κανείς.
Λαϊκή (ονειροκρίτης)
In folk belief the ring is the emblem of the word once pledged: to wear one in a dream promises faithfulness, a firm vow, or a betrothal soon to come. To lose it or to see it break is read by old superstition as a sign of strife between lovers, broken faith, or the ending of a bond. But to receive a ring as a gift foretells a happy union and a friendship that will hold fast.

To lose a ring points to the fear of a bond breaking or the loss of a position that once steadied you. The now-missing circle shows a gap in your sense of wholeness. Traditionally the dream warns of a breach of faith or trust that you already sense within.

The wedding or engagement ring speaks directly of a promise, of fidelity and the longing for a lasting union. It reveals a readiness to commit, or the quiet question of whether an existing bond still holds. For the unmarried it is often read as the herald of a betrothal or a serious encounter.
Receiving a ring as a gift
Receiving a ring as a gift promises that affection, trust or an honorable charge is being offered to you from outside. It is a bond another extends to you, not one you sought yourself. Traditionally the dream announces a faithful tie or an advancement laid, as it were, into your hand.
