Psihološki (Frojd)
Kuća se smatra najobuhvatnijim simbolom sopstva: njene prostorije odgovaraju slojevima psihe, od svetle dnevne sobe svesti pa do podruma potisnutog. Stanje kuće odražava unutrašnje stanje, a istraživanje nepoznatih prostorija ukazuje na skrivene delove sopstvene ličnosti sanjača.
Orijentalno tumačenje
