Războiul în vis este de obicei scena unui conflict lăuntric: dorințe care se ciocnesc, datoria împotriva dorinței, supraeul împotriva instinctului. Câmpul de bătălie face vădit câtă încordare și agresivitate își reține visătorul în viața de veghe.
Interpretare orientală
În tradiție, războiul în vis poate arăta spre vrajbă, scumpire ori neliniște în preajmă, după deznodământul bătăliei. Pentru cel ce iese biruitor sau nevătămat, mulți îl citesc ca izbândă asupra potrivnicilor și ca sfârșit al certurilor.

In old folk belief, war in a dream is a dark omen of discord and unrest: strife is coming into the house, neighbours fall out, and in the wider world hard times are brewing. The old folk said a dream of battle and weapons foretells dear years and heavy talk in the village. But whoever returns home unharmed from the field is promised by the old books that all the quarrelling will, in the end, turn out in his favour.

The sudden outbreak of war mirrors a conflict that long simmered beneath the surface and now erupts with force — inwardly or in your closest circle. Traditionally it points to unrest, strife, or upheaval in the community; psychologically it marks the moment when repressed tensions can no longer be contained.
Fleeing from war
Being on the run from war reveals the wish to withdraw from an overwhelming confrontation you feel unequal to. The dream may mirror a real avoidance; yet the flight can also be wise — recognizing when a battle is not yours to fight and retreat means protection.
Fighting in a war
Actively fighting in a war shows that you are taking on a confrontation with full force rather than avoiding it. It is about the will to assert yourself, defending what is sacred to you — traditionally a sign of looming conflicts in which your courage and your stance must prove themselves.
End of a war, peace
The end of a war and the arrival of peace herald the settling of a long inner or outer feud. A phase of struggle, exhaustion, and opposition is coming to a close; reconciliation becomes possible. Traditionally this image promises calm, reconciliation, and the return of safety into life.
