În psihologia adâncimilor, scorpionul întrupează acul ascuns: ostilitatea reprimată, ranchiuna ori pornirile de a te răni pe tine însuți, ce pândesc sub o suprafață liniștită. Poate oglindi și teama de o trădare perfidă, dând astfel chip propriei neîncrederi.
Interpretare orientală
În tâlcuirea după Ibn Sirin, scorpionul stă de obicei pentru un dușman clevetitor sau un om fățarnic care înțeapă pe la spate și răspândește bârfe. O înțepătură vestește vătămare prin vorbe rele, în vreme ce uciderea scorpionului prevestește biruința asupra unui astfel de potrivnic.
