Old country lore takes fresh, glittering snow in a dream as a good omen of rich blessing, a fine harvest, and unlooked-for money. To walk over clean white snow promises that a matter will end spotless and honourable and that an old grudge will be forgiven. But dirty, thawing, or storm-driven snow warns of delay, cold words among friends, and a sickness that may creep into the house.

Snow falling in its proper season in winter counts in Oriental reading as blessing, relief and abundant provision. Psychologically the white blanket lays the land to rest: a quiet season in which something healing germinates beneath the surface.
Snow in summer
Snow out of season, as in summer, reverses the omen and warns of worry, obstacles or loss where a harvest was expected. Inwardly it shows a misplaced coldness: feelings freeze over precisely when warmth and aliveness are called for.
