To see fish being caught, the old people say, heralds good days and a well-laden table ahead.

Catching fish
To catch fish yourself is read by Ibn Sirin as especially auspicious: gain that you earn, a venture that pays off, a reward you have actively worked for. In depth-psychological terms you are reaching deliberately into the unconscious and making something long hidden usable for yourself.
Dead fish
A dead or rotting fish reverses the good omen: hope of gain that disappoints, a source of income running dry, a matter that no longer sustains you. Psychologically it points to spent vitality or a feeling that has died off and wants to be lifted out before it turns poisonous.
Big fish
A single, strikingly large fish promises, in the oriental reading, a great gain, a significant opportunity, or the backing of a powerful patron. In depth psychology it is the "big catch" of the soul: an insight or gift of real magnitude pressing toward the light.
Fish in clear water
Fish swimming in clear, transparent water signify pure, lawfully gained fortune: honest earnings, a situation you can see through clearly. Psychologically the clear water shows a well-ordered inner life, where unconscious stirrings become visible and can be trusted and welcomed.
